Sts. Peter and Paul Chapel is between Mt. Vernon and Solon off of Hwy 1.   Mt. Vernon is approximately 13 miles to the east of Cedar Rapids on Hwy 30.   Solon is approximately 9 miles north of I-80 (exit 246 near Iowa City).

Approaching from Mt. Vernon:

1. Go south on Hwy 1.
2. About 8 miles from the intersection of Hwy 30 and Hwy 1 you will see a brown sign on the side saying "Historical Marker 1/2 mile ahead".  You are now 1 mile from 140th street.
3. Amazingly enough, about 1/2 mile later you will see a small stone building with a sign in front saying "Stone Academy".
4. About 1/2 mile after the Stone Academy will be 140th street.
5. Turn left onto 140th street (eastbound).  It is also called County Road F12.
6. Turn left again at NE Taft Ave.  It's 1.7 miles from Hwy 1, and is the first road on the left.
7. The church is 1.2 miles to the north.

Approaching from Solon:

1. Continue north on Hwy 1.
2. About 2.7 miles from the intersection of Hwy 382 and Hwy 1 (i.e., downtown Solon) you will see a brown sign on the side saying "Historical Marker 1/2 mile ahead".   140th street is the road about 50 feet past the sign.  It is worth nothing that 140th street is also the 2nd paved road on the right as you head north from Solon.
3. Turn right onto 140th street (eastbound).  It is also called County Road F12.
4. Turn left again at NE Taft Ave.  It's 1.7 miles from Hwy 1, and is the first road on the left.
5. The church is 1.2 miles up the road.
